Colorado Bar Music, where I've played the last 30 years; come on in and have a beer.

Steven Ferguson All songs written or co-written by Steven Ferguson

Most of the songs on this CD were written in the mid to later 70's in Hawaii on Tom Wagner's four track reel-to-reel recorder, but came to life in 1987 when Steven went into the studio with musician friends he had been playing with for years and then entered 2 of those songs in the Colorado Songwriter's Festival. "Colorado Canyon Song" placed #4 and "Whiskey" placed #8. The next year, 1988, Steven entered "Morning Glory" and placed #3. Three in the top 10 out of 100's of songs entered was not a bad start to test Steven's original material. "Morning Glory" was also played in the late 80's on Boulder's KBCO's radio show, which featured three local songwriters each week. "She Was A Dancer" placed in the semi finals.

Recorded with members of the Mushroom Mountain Band and SlowBurn in the Mid 80's. Three were actually recorded with Hot Rod Steven and Dr. Watson. "MountainBoogie", "When I See" and "Southwind" in the later 90's. The CD version was released in 1999.

"MountainBoogie" and "Southwind" are the more recent songs, written in 1999.

Country Rock with a little Sax

Tombstone Riders is a Denver Based Band playing Original Music. Tombstone Riders won the First round of competition at the Oriental Theater in Denver in 2014, Stephanie Ferguson joined Tombstone Riders for that initial show, then Tombstone Riders added Roger Kline for the second show and went on to win the Grand Prize at the Oriental Theater in 2015, which was 20 hours of recording time. Tombstone Riders have completed three Original CD's, "Colorado Canyon Song" "Rockin' It" and "Whiskey Saloon".

Steve Ferguson is the main songwriter, singer and Bass player, placing three songs in the Top 10 of the Colorado Songwriter Festival in 1986-1987, Tombstone Riders are creating their own sound around these and more current originals songs.

Steve Schlueter on Drums.  Schlueter and Ferguson started performing in "The Bourbon Cowboy Band" back in the early 80's, then the "Mushroom Mountain Band".  Schlueter went on to back up Bob Simpson who took the place of John Kay in Steppenwolf.  Schlueter is the back bone to the Tombstone Riders.

Jack Chleva has been their main Guitar player in the Studio and when they performed at the Oriental Theater.  As a side note, Jack placed first in the Blues Guitar completion at Guitar Center.

Robert Rebholz was asked to sit in on Sax in the Studio Sessions, and has become a big part of the Tombstone Riders sound.  Robert has played with many Top Performers in the Denver area.

Kevin Trainor sat in on Lead Guitar to record "Stoned Again" and "Morning Glory".  Kevin was in the band Duskray Troubadours with John Popper of Blues Traveler.

Roger Kline was a tremendous player on for guitar, both Lead and Rhythm and Paul Borman also added guitar on some songs...both were part of Tombstone Riders for a short time...Roger Kline and Steve Ferguson wrote the song "Miss Me When I'm Gone" on the "Colorado Canyon Song" CD. Roger was a great find to help add flavor to the songs.

Tombstone Riders also had a brief appearance by Charles Provenza on the "Whiskey Saloon" CD on New Morning, a one time National Mandolin Champion and Six time Telluride Mandolin Contest Winner.

Thank you for your interest in The Tombstone Riders!.

Original songs by Steven Ferguson

All songs written by Steven Ferguson. These songs were basically recorded in my Basement, and by me taking my recorder to Musician's houses and have them add tracks. Don't know why I did that, seems a waste of time for most, but to me it was important to create these songs.

This CD features the songwriting and Vocal work of Steven Ferguson. Piano player Steve Hollingsworth, whose father played with Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys, Curly Hollingsworth. Longtime Drummer, Ray Watson. Three guitars players were called to help out including Slide Player Jack Chleva, Rock and Roll, Accoustic and Lap Steel Player Dan Merwin and Country Rock electric guitar player Chris Callans.

"We're Gonna Party" is featured on the Paramount Cafe CD, we played the CD release party June 27, 2004, along with the other bands featured on this CD.

"Old Friend" was selected to be on Paramount Cafe's Volume 4 all original cD.

Feelin' Funky

Steven Ferguson

Feelin' Funky is a CD I never put out.  Done years ago for no particular reason than to find the right time.  This started with Ed Pramuk and me getting together with my home recording unit.  I sang him the words to Don't Look Back and he styled some great guitar licks with them, so without Ed this CD would not have been possible.  Then we went to World of Misery and then Feelin' Funky.  I had some basic songs written on guitar with Lyrics, Ed moved away and I asked my Old Friend Tom Wagner to take a listen, and he came up with the Mandolin licks that sound fantastic!  And "Hey", we had some decent songs.  So this is it...I went to Olsson's house to record Drums on three songs that Ed and I wrote...and this is it!  Hope you like the material!

Feelin' Funky, Don't Look Back, World of Misery (c2012 Ferguson/Pramuk)

Good Good Day (c2012 Ferguson)

Setting Suns of the Evening (c1978 Ferguson/Wagner)

Thru the Window Pane, Whispering Wind, Swing at Me One More Time (c2010 Ferguson/Wagner)
